Lo nuevo de Keane: “Disconnected” (letra y video)

Esta es la historia: Enmarcada en la gira Night Train, que tuvo presentaciones en Inglaterra, Portugal, Irlanda, Estados Unidos y Canadá, el grupo británico aprovechó, en los conciertos norteamericanos, de presentar una nueva canción, que posiblemente estará en el cuarto disco, de fecha aún por determinar.

“Disconnected” cuenta con los atributos que hicieron a Keane una de mis bandas preferidas y regresa al estilo que los hizo grandes. A continuación, en concierto, lo nuevo de Keane. La letra, tras el video:

The Killers: Live from the Royal Albert Hall

Siempre he dicho que la solidez de un grupo se observa en un concierto. Nunca he ído a uno de The Killers y tras ver el concierto en el Royal Albert Hall de Londres, me declaro arrepentido. Porque la energía que el grupo liderado por Brandon Flowers es realmente espectacular, en un concierto casi perfecto.

Sin duda, la banda de Las Vegas estaba en ese entonces (cuando fue grabado este concierto) en su mejor momento. Con 3 discos a su haber y una docena de hits realmente exitosos, la demostración en la capital inglesa reafirma todas las loas que la crítica ha aplicado sobre The Killers. El grupo anda muy bien y sus conciertos lo demuestran, con un repertorio muy bien pensado, salvo algunos excesos quizás con el disco nuevo (cuya respuesta del público no es tan impresionante como en otras).

De culto, interpretaciones como “A Dustland Fairytale” o “Bling” (¿se nota que son mis favoritas?), además de otras notables como “Spaceman”, “Human” o “For Reasons Unknown”; pero siendo bien sinceros, estamos en presencia de un concierto y de un disco de realización de altísimo nivel, disponible en HD (incluso con 1080p). Si te gusta The Killers, no puedes no saber de esta obra, la última que Flowers y compañía han sacado al mercado. Como para anotarme desde ya en el siguiente concierto del grupo en Santiago, porque después de esto, no me caben dudas que es un evento que no hay que perdérselo. Lección aprendida.

Esta vida es muy loca, siempre te ataca simultáneamente, siempre cuando quiere demostrarte que algo no está bien y que debe cambiar, lo hace al comienzo como tímidas alertas, que muchas veces no se toman en cuenta y luego te golpea con cuática, varias veces como cuando eras chico y te remecían para que te dieras cuenta que estabas haciendo algo mal y reaccionaras. En el zamarreo estoy ahora yo, me han pasado en el último tiempo – meses, incluso horas – bastantes cosas medias pesadas que se han ido acumulando y cambiándome el tablero de juego en el que estaba instalado. Los cambios son pesados, son duros, son necesarios pero también difíciles de llevar. Creo que la estabilidad es un bien necesario para mi a esta altura, por lo que estar en esta onda sísmica es un poco ingrato y bastante molesto. Espero que pase luego para poder recoger las piezas que se cayeron, olvidar a las que no están y seguir jugando este juego de la vida hasta ganarlo.

Un compromiso con la historia

Cada vez que La oreja de Van Gogh viene a Chile es una historia distinta, una historia que ha tenido capítulos en todos los años a partir del 2004, cuando nunca me imaginé que esa visita al hotel para que me firmaran un disco terminaría siendo una tradición que ya lleva casi 6 años y donde he tratado de estar en todas las partes y momentos con mi grupo favorito, un grupo que hizo cambiar mi forma de ver la música y de ver a los “famosos”.

A pesar que Amaia ya no esté, la mística del grupo está ahi, se siente en sus conciertos, se siente en los discos. Más aún con Leire, la vocalista, cada vez más sólida en el escenario y con un carisma totalmente agradable y que hace que poco a poco olvidemos los buenos momentos de ayer para pasar a estos donde La Oreja sigue viva, con fuerza y con ese talento y humildad del primer día. Por eso, aunque el sello no apoye al grupo, aunque menos gente los vea en los conciertos, aunque los discos no suenen tanto, seguiré estando con ellos, asistiendo a los conciertos, comprando los discos y esperando una vez más tener una firma, una foto o un simple hola. Por que es un compromiso con la historia del grupo y también es un compromiso con mi historia.
